Peraton is seeking a Software Development Manager to lead on-site teams in Herndon, VA. You will guide technical strategy, manage multiple development efforts, and partner with architects and leadership to ensure high-quality, on-time delivery across complex products.

The role requires hands-on leadership, full-stack development experience (Java, Python, JavaScript), and AWS skills. Expect collaboration with executives, capacity planning, and a strong focus on security clearances.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph or ability to pass polygraph.
• Bachelor's degree or 4 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
• 10+ years of professional experience with 4+ years in a supervisory/management role.
• Strong written and verbal communication for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proven full-stack software development experience in modern tech stacks.
• Hands-on experience with Java, Python, and JavaScript.
• Experience with AWS (Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, EC2, S3, DynamoDB).
• Familiarity with REST/Spring/Spring Boot and Docker.
• Proficient with Git, Jenkins, Jira, Confluence; MS Project.
• Experienced in Agile planning, scheduling, and PMR briefings.
• Understanding of CIO processes and EMO requirements.

• Establish project plans with goals, milestones, risks, and contingencies.
• Communicate status and technical insights to executives and stakeholders.
• Monitor emerging tech and industry standards for innovation.
• Oversee hiring, performance reviews, and policy adherence.
• Foster accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
