Job summary

DuCharme, McMillen & Associates, Inc. is seeking a motivated Software Development Intern in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

You will work with a team of experienced developers on real-world web-based solutions for tax services, gaining hands-on exposure to requirements gathering, coding, testing, and deployment processes. The internship offers hands-on training, code reviews, and opportunities to contribute to core software projects while learning modern technologies in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Experience with object-oriented programming (C# or Java).
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g. Javascript), MVC concepts, JDBC/SQL is a plus.
  • Knowledge of relational databases.
  • Able to work collaboratively in a goal-driven team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in code reviews and release & sprint planning sessions.
  • Assist with developing unit test cases for new features and bug fixes.
  • Provide technical support and diagnose issues.
  • Maintain and enhance existing software solutions.
  • Develop and document potential solutions to issues.
  • Prepare functional and technical documentation.
