Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in Seattle, WA is seeking a Software Development Engineer for the S3 Index team. You will help build the next generation of large-scale storage services and contribute to reliability, performance, and operational excellence across AWS S3.

The role emphasizes ownership, test automation, and design reviews while partnering with on-call rotation to maintain uptime. A strong background in distributed systems and OO design is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, scaling) of new and existing systems.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver scalable software within AWS S3 and S3 Index.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of large distributed systems used by trillions of objects.
• Collaborate with teams across AWS to ensure reliability and performance of services.
