Job summary

Remitly, Inc. is seeking a Software Development Engineer to design and drive the roadmap for essential platform services powering our core products.

This role supports a Seattle-area, remote-friendly team with up to 3 days telecommuting per week, based on manager approval. You will collaborate with Product Engineering and IT to set technical requirements and architecture, and you will build scalable systems across cloud infrastructure using modern languages and tools.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related STEM field.
• 2 years of full software development lifecycle experience including design, development, version control, testing, deployment and debugging.
• 1 year of code reviews and system design discussions; 1 year on RESTful APIs design; 1 year on SaaS apps using RESTful APIs and Golang; 1 year on unit, integration, and functional tests; 1 year on Bootstrap, CSS, Docker, ExpressJS, Git, HTML, Java, JavaScript, Jira, NodeJS, NoSQL, Python, ReactJS, React Native, Ruby, TypeScript.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, architecture, and performance standards for platform services.
• Develop scalable software platforms using modern languages, deployment systems, and cloud infrastructure.
• Improve developer tooling and internal engineering practices to boost productivity and reliability.
• Test and evaluate software and automation tools to ensure security and industry best practices.
• Ensure compliance with security policies and regulatory requirements in collaboration with Infrastructure and Security teams.
