Job summary

Remitly is hiring a Software Development Engineer to help design and drive the software platform services that power our core products. Telecommuting is available up to 3 days per week within the Seattle area with manager approval.

You will lead development teams, plan improvements, and build scalable backend services on cloud platforms while mentoring peers and collaborating across Product Engineering and Security teams. Equity is part of total compensation.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in CS or related STEM field with 2 years of software development experience.
• 1 year of feature design and development.
• 1 year of backend systems development including testing and debugging.
• 1 year of building, delivering, and maintaining reliable and scalable backend services on a public cloud.
• 1 year of providing technical leadership across the SDLC.
• 1 year of software design, development, implementation, and testing.
• 1 year of writing secure, stable, testable, and maintainable code.

Responsibilities

• Lead software development teams to deliver payment solutions.
• Plan process and technology improvement projects and collaborate on execution.
• Develop easy-to-use software platforms leveraging cloud infrastructure.
• Assess and validate software systems for security and compliance with Infrastructure and Security teams.
• Implement and accelerate delivery of world-class developer tools with cross-functional teams.
• Mentor engineers to promote efficient practices and standardization across services.
