Job summary

deciBel Research, Inc. is seeking a Software Developer in Dayton, OH to contribute to a range of software projects. You will assist with routine tasks, learn under supervision, and help design, test, and deploy code across the development lifecycle.

The role requires a BS in CS or CE, up to four years of experience, and familiarity with Python, Go, Java, and JavaScript, plus experience with CI/CD and GitOps. A security clearance and U.S. citizenship are prerequisites.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar degree.
• Up to four years of relevant software development experience.
• Experience deploying new secure systems and networks.
• Experience applying and following Scrum framework principles.
• Familiarity/Experience with native cloud development languages such as Python, Go, Java, and JavaScript.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and GitOps principle.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are necessary to coordinate and communicate with executives, external partners, and project stakeholders.
• Proficiency with cloud-native security tools (e.g., AWS CloudTrail, Azure Security Center, GCP Security Command Center) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Senior Software Engineers with routine assignments.
• Apply fundamental knowledge of operating systems and programming languages.
• Work on well-defined problems and learn under direct supervision.
• Possesses sufficient writing skills to prepare and generate technical reports and other documentation pertinent to the position.
• Produce well-written designed, testable and efficient code that meets technical requirements.
• Ability to work closely with users to troubleshoot code defects and deploy timely fixes.
• Participate in a highly collaborative team environment, contributing to all phases of the development lifecycle.
