Job summary

SimVentions, Inc. in Maryland is seeking a Mid-level Software Developer with 5+ years of experience to design, build, and maintain modular software components for tactical systems. On-site presence at NSWCDD is required 3-4 days per week. An ACTIVE Secret Clearance and US citizenship are required.

Responsibilities include designing modular software, developing open APIs, SQL data design, and applying CI/CD with Docker and Kubernetes in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software development.
• Experience with Java, Kotlin, Go, Golang, Rust, or TypeScript.
• Experience with designing and implementing modular software architectures.
• Knowledge of open API and providing data access.
• Knowledge of database schema design and SQL.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of Agile fundamentals.
• Secret clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain clean, modular software components using languages such as Java, Kotlin, Go, Rust, or TypeScript.
• Develop standard, open APIs and scalable data interfaces for data access and integration.
• Design database schemas and write efficient SQL queries.
• Utilize CI/CD automation and containerization (Docker and Kubernetes) for deployment.
• Integrate open-source protocols (MQTT, gRPC, WebSockets) and mapping libraries (OpenLayers, Cesium).
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, perform code reviews, and deliver software packages.
• Maintain ability to operate in a cleared security environment and ensure security compliance.
