Job summary

SimVentions is an employee-owned company seeking a Mid-level Software Developer with 5+ years of experience to build software for tactical systems. The role requires on-site presence at NSWCDD or contractor facility 3-4 days per week.

You will design modular software, develop standard APIs and scalable data interfaces, and create database schemas with efficient SQL. Expect CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes, and agile collaboration in a secured environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Experience with Java, Kotlin, Go, Rust, or TypeScript.
• Designing and implementing modular software architectures.
• Knowledge of open API access to data.
• Database schema design and SQL knowledge.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with Agile fundamentals.
• Secret clearance is required.
• Bachelor’s degree required.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain modular software components in Java/Kotlin/Go/Rust/TypeScript.
• Develop standard APIs and scalable data interfaces across systems.
• Design database schemas and write efficient SQL queries.
• Use CI/CD and containers (Docker, Kubernetes) for deployment.
• Integrate open-source protocols (MQTT, gRPC, WebSockets) and mapping libs.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, perform code reviews, deliver software packages.
• Operate within a cleared security environment and maintain compliance.
