Job summary

SimVentions is seeking a Mid-level Software Developer with 5+ years of experience to join our team for tactical systems. This on-site role requires 3–4 days per week at NSWCDD or contractor facility and an ACTIVE Secret Clearance. A Bachelor's degree is required.

You will work with Java, Kotlin, Go, Rust, or TypeScript to design modular software and open APIs, with SQL and CI/CD using Docker/Kubernetes. You'll integrate open protocols (MQTT, gRPC) and mapping libraries, participate in Agile

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software development.
• Experience with Java, Kotlin, Go, Golang, Rust, or TypeScript.
• Experience with designing and implementing modular software architectures.
• Knowledge of open APIs and providing access to data.
• Knowledge of database schema design and SQL.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain clean, modular software components using languages such as Java, Kotlin, Go, Rust, or TypeScript.
• Develop standard, open APIs and scalable data interfaces to ensure data access and integration across systems.
• Develop database schema design and writing efficient SQL queries to support applications.
• Utilize CI/CD automation and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker and Kubernetes) to streamline application deployment.
• Integrate open-source communication protocols (e.g., MQTT, gRPC, or WebSockets) and open-source mapping libraries to projects.
• Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, perform code reviews, and deliver completed software packages.
• Maintain the ability to operate within a cleared security environment and maintain security compliance.
