Andrews Cooper is seeking an Associate Software Controls Engineer to design and implement automated systems for HardTech projects. The role involves working with multidisciplinary teams across consumer, medical, clean tech, and automation sectors.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of hands-on software controls experience, travels up to 20% to support multiple client sites, and possesses strong programming in LabVIEW and C/C++ among other languages.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Software or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or equivalent experience in a related field. MSEE is a plus.
• 1-3 years of professional hands-on Software Controls Engineering designing complex automated systems.
• Up to 20% travel may be required between locations.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Background checks are required.

Responsabilités

• Identify and integrate off-the-shelf components including controllers, pneumatics, fluidics, robots, vision systems, motion systems, sensors, part handling systems, safety systems, and conveyors.
• Validate solutions through engineering analysis and calculations.
• Power up and troubleshoot automation systems during startup phases.
• Provide design directions and lead multiple engineers in projects.
• Assist in proposal writing with design concepts, labor/material estimates, and scheduling.
• Develop and maintain software project planning docs including machine control specs and state diagrams.
