Andrews Cooper is seeking a Senior Software Controls Engineer to design, program, test, and commission PLC and HMI software for custom automation systems in varied industries. You will integrate robots, motion systems, vision sensors, and safety devices while delivering complete automation solutions.

The role requires 7+ years of hands-on software controls experience, knowledge of PLCs/HMI platforms, and willingness to travel up to 20% to support multiple client sites.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Software or Electrical Engineering; MSEE is a plus.
• 7+ years of professional hands-on experience in Software Controls Engineering.
• Up to 20% of travel may be required; willing to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, test, and commission PLC and HMI software for custom automation systems.
• Integrate automation components including robots, motion systems, vision systems, sensors, and safety devices.
• Troubleshoot and support machine startup, commissioning, and customer acceptance testing.
• Develop technical documentation including control specifications and software documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver complete automation solutions.
• Lead controls engineering efforts on complex projects and mentor engineers.
