Job summary

Andrews Cooper seeks a Senior Software Controls Engineer to design, program, test, and commission PLC and HMI software for custom automation systems across hardTech sectors.

You will integrate automation components including robots, motion systems, vision systems, sensors, and safety devices, while mentoring engineers and guiding complex projects. Travel up to 20% is expected; a B.S. in Software or Electrical Engineering and 7+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Software or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of hands-on software controls engineering.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% and work at client sites.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, test, and commission PLC and HMI software for custom automation.
• Integrate automation components: robots, motion, vision, sensors, safety devices.
• Troubleshoot startup, commissioning, and customer acceptance testing.
• Develop control specifications and software documentation.
• Lead controls engineering on complex projects and mentor teammates.
