Job summary

Andrews Cooper is seeking a Senior Software/Controls Engineer to design, program, test, and commission PLC and HMI software for custom automation systems across client sites in the HardTech space.

The role requires a B.S. in Software or Electrical Engineering (MSEE a plus) and 7+ years of hands-on experience in software controls engineering, with travel up to 20%. Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship; travel and client site access are required.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, test, and commission PLC and HMI software.
• Integrate automation components including robots and sensors.
• Troubleshoot machine startup and customer acceptance testing.
• Develop control specifications and software documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on automation solutions.
• Lead controls engineering efforts on complex projects.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical direction.
