Job summary

The Information Technology BA III position at Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) in Austin supports the Software Asset Management program. You will manage software inventories, licenses, renewals, and vendor communications to optimize enterprise licensing and cost control.

The role collaborates with business areas and IT teams, ensuring compliance with policies, preparing audit materials, and driving process improvements across SAM activities.

Qualifications

• Experience with software asset management, IT asset management, or software licensing in an enterprise environment.
• Ability to analyze inventory, entitlements, purchases, and usage data for compliance and cost efficiency.
• Experience coordinating with business areas, procurement, vendors, and technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Tracks software purchases, licenses, renewals, and retirements across the HHS Enterprise.
• Maintains license compliance and supports audits and publisher reviews.
• Coordinates license reuse, standardization, and enterprise-wide licensing initiatives.
• Develops SAM procedures, data standards, and system documentation.
• Coordinates data collection from SAM tools and validates records for accuracy.
