Job summary

Mounds View Public Schools invites applications for the 9th Grade Softball Coach for the Spring 2027 season. The successful candidate will lead the program, prioritize skill development, and foster a positive, competitive student-athlete environment.

The role requires a valid Minnesota coaching certificate (or equivalent qualifications), strong understanding of softball, and the ability to build a comprehensive program with staff and community involvement.

Qualifications

• A valid Minnesota coaching certificate or alternative qualifications is required.
• Strong background and understanding of softball.
• Coaching experience strongly preferred.
• Experience in building a comprehensive program, developing staff, and managing diverse program-wide elements in accordance with the school mission and vision.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and the commitment to develop and maintain positive relationships between the program and the local community.
• Proven experience in teaching and modeling character and responsible behavior.
• Positive, high energy, and committed.
• Partners well with parents, staff, community leaders, etc.
• View success not just as winning; but as helping team members to reach goals.
• Orientation toward continuous improvement and transformational coaching.

Overview: The 9th gradecoach is responsible for managing the daily operations of the program.

• A valid Minnesota coaching certificate (or alternative qualifications) is required.
