Job summary

GE Vernova Research-Energy Research is seeking a Solid Oxide fuel cell testing engineer with instrumentation and controls, test build, and operation capabilities to support research, development, and manufacturing of material processes for energy storage and conversion devices. Located in Malta, NY.

You will design, set up, operate, and troubleshoot electrical or mechanical systems for SOFCs and related technologies, driving robust testing protocols and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or associate degree in engineering, materials science, manufacturing, or related field.
• 6+ months of experience in SOFC testing, instrumentation and controls, LabVIEW programming, trouble shooting, and test operation.
• Experience with safety practices in experimental design and lab work.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and lead projects in energy conversion and storage, solid oxide fuel cells and solid oxide electrolysis cells.
• Develop instrumentation and controls for reliable testing results.
• Design and execute experiments and lead tasks to benefit GE Vernova businesses and customers.
• Prepare written reports and presentations for stakeholders summarizing value, strategy and results.
• Coordinate analytical work to meet customer entitlements.
