Qualifications

• License and Certification: Certification by the state of Georgia as a school social worker required.

Primary Responsibilities

Responsible for promoting and enhancing the academic mission by addressing learning barriers and assessing the needs of students, families, and schools. Implementing direct case services, crisis intervention, and advocacy support within assigned clusters or locations.

1. Student Support and Interventions: Provide direct case services, conduct home visits, crisis support, and assist with student adjustment and mental health issues.
2. Coordination and Collaboration: Liaise with families, schools, and community agencies; address social-emotional issues and facilitate access to resources.
3. Planning and Program Management: Assist in program planning, conduct needs assessments, develop intervention plans, and advocate for services.
4. Data Collection and Reporting: Maintain documentation, complete reports, and ensure compliance with policies.
5. Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Physical Demands

This position requires travel between schools, frequent standing, walking, talking, and occasional lifting up to 25 pounds. Accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.
