Job summary

Universal Health Services seeks a Social Worker at Metropolitan Behavioral Health to support patients and families. You will perform social services, crisis intervention, and specialized clinical work within an inpatient facility offering comprehensive behavioral health care.

The role includes counseling, teaching, and referrals to ensure patients reach their emotional health goals while coordinating with the care team. Full-time with weekend/holiday rotation.

Qualifications

• MSW or MA in Counseling required.
• LMSW or LLMSW; LPC or LLPC licensure preferred/required.
• 1–3 years in a psychiatric health care facility with direct experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and strong clinical assessment skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in meeting bio-psychosocial needs and enable access to treatment resources.
• Perform crisis intervention and provide ongoing support.
• Provide short-term and long-term family therapy using appropriate approaches.
• Offer information and referrals as needed to support patient and family care.

Metropolitan Behavioral Health (a UHS Facility)

Metropolitan Behavioral Hospital,144-bed behavioral health facility, provides a full continuum of inpatient services across the entire patient population, including specialty programs to serve adolescents, adults and older adults, and perform behavioral health assessments 24 hours a day. Additionally, programs for co-occurring behavioral health and substance use issues will be offered to meet the unique needs of this patient population. The facility provides a robust outpatient program utilizing a combination of group, family and individual therapy.

Position Summary

The Social Worker performs social services functions to include assisting patients in meeting their bio-psychosocial needs while enabling them to access through therapeutic treatment skills to achieve their optimal level of emotional health, including providing basic consultation, teaching, complete specialized clinical social work services for patients/families receiving care, crisis intervention, short-term and long-term family therapy, and providing information and referrals as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: MSW or MA in Counseling

License: LMSW or LLMSW; LPC or LLPC

Experience: Requires at least 1 to 3 years’ experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills; must have strong clinical assessment skills. Combination of education, licensure and experience and/ or student internship hours may be considered.

This position is full-time with weekend/holiday rotation.
