Job summary

Arbor Springs in Des Moines, IA, is seeking a licensed Social Worker to assist the Director of Social Services and advocate for residents’ social interests within our Montessori-Inspired Living community. You will plan, organize, implement, evaluate and direct the Social Services Department to meet the medically-related emotional and social needs of residents with dignity and respect.

Qualifications

• Must be registered as a Certified Social Worker or in training to become one
• Must be 18 years or older
• Completion of secondary education at an approved school of Social Work
• Must read, write, speak and understand English
• Previous related experience or training in social work

General Purpose

To assist the Director of Social Services in acting as a liaison and representative of the residents’ social interests and to assist in planning, organizing, implementing, evaluating and directing the overall operation of the Social Services Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards governing the facility, and as may be directed by the Administrator, to ensure that the medically-related emotional and social needs of the residents are met and maintained on an individual basis.

Qualifications

• Must be registered as a Certified Social Worker in good standing or in training to satisfactorily complete the requirements to become a Certified Social Worker.


• Must be at least 18 years of age


• Completion of secondary education at an approved school of Social Work


• Must read, write, speak and understand English


• Previous experience or completion of appropriate training program.
