Arbor Springs is a 56-bed Senior Living Community in Des Moines, IA, seeking a dedicated Social Services professional to support the Director of Social Services and ensure individualized emotional and social resident care. The role involves planning, organizing, evaluating, and directing social services operations in line with standards.

General Purpose

To assist the Director of Social Services in acting as a liaison and representative of the residents’ social interests and to assist in planning, organizing, implementing, evaluating and directing the overall operation of the Social Services Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards governing the facility, and as may be directed by the Administrator, to ensure that the medically-related emotional and social needs of the residents are met and maintained on an individual basis.

Qualifications

• Must be registered as a Certified Social Worker in good standing or in training to satisfactorily complete the requirements to become a Certified Social Worker.
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Completion of secondary education at an approved school of Social Work
• Must read, write, speak and understand English
• Previous experience or completion of appropriate training program.
