Qualifications

• Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse in good standing and licensed by the State, or in training to complete requirements for LPN.
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must show ability to read and write in a legible and understandable manner
• Must speak and understand English
• Previous experience in a nursing capacity desirable
• Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures and laws
• Knowledge of regulations and guidelines governing long-term care desirable
• Positive attitude toward the elderly

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise Certified Nursing Assistants in accordance with standards and directions from the RN, DONS, and administration.
• Monitor residents' condition, administer medications, and document care accurately.
• Collaborate with the care team to create a safe, therapeutic environment.
• Maintain compliance with regulations and support quality of life for residents.

General Purpose

To provide direct nursing care to the residents and to supervise the day-to-day nursing activities of Certified Nursing Assistants in accordance with federal, state and local standards governing the facility, and as may be directed by the RN, Director of Nursing Services and Administration, to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is always maintained.
