Job summary

Mount Prospect Academy in Plymouth, NH is seeking a dedicated Social Studies Teacher to join a dynamic academic and treatment team serving residential students. You will lead a classroom, develop engaging lessons, assess progress, and support individualized learning plans within a safe, therapeutic environment.

Required: 21+, Bachelor’s degree, NH DOE certification, and 2+ years of teaching experience in general and/or special education.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• NH DOE certification / teaching license (K-8 or high school content area).
• 2+ years of teaching experience in general and/or special education (middle or high school preferred).

Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction, grading, and assessment aligned with curriculum standards
• Develop lesson plans, assignments, tests, and progress reports
• Implement and support Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Monitor and implement classroom behavioral interventions as needed
• Maintain accurate and timely academic documentation
• Supervise and collaborate with teaching assistants
• Participate in curriculum development, faculty meetings, and professional development
• Support school activities, including field trips
• Communicate effectively within the academic and treatment teams
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold MPA policies and procedures
• Represent Mount Prospect Academy professionally to families, communities, and partner agencies
