Central Connecticut State University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Social Studies Coordinator. This assistant professor will be a joint appointment with Educational Innovation and Technology and oversee educator preparation for state certification in Secondary History and Social Studies (grades 4-12).

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in History (or related discipline) must be in hand or conferred by 12/31/2027.
  • Experience in middle/high school setting as a licensed social studies teacher OR experience in teacher education programs.

Responsibilities

  • Teach social studies education classes and courses aligned with history fields.
  • Advise secondary Education History and Social Studies students.
  • Prepare materials for CAEP accreditation.
  • Collaborate with university supervisors for student teaching.
  • Promote pedagogical innovation and integrate technology into teaching.
