Job summary

College Internship Program (CIP) in Berkeley, CA is seeking a Social Skills Coordinator to partner with students, families, and professionals to foster independence. This onsite, full-time non-exempt role reports to the Assistant Program Director and may require longer hours or weekend work.

Responsibilities include delivering social skills instruction, coordinating with PEERS and Social Mentoring, mentoring staff, and building college internship partnerships to support CIP students in achieving

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education or related field.
PEER for Young Adults Certified preferred.
Active Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

Instruct social skills curriculum in individual and group sessions.
Support instruction in Reframing, PEERS, and Social Mentoring.
Assess student social skills strengths and challenges; assist in goal setting.
Develop relationships with local colleges to recruit college interns as social mentors.
Supervise and train Social Skills department staff; conduct evaluations.
Collaborate on social thinking projects to integrate Social Thinking in student plans.
Produce session notes, monthly group notes, and progress reports.
Plan weekend activities with life skills for all students.
Lead and oversee the Student Council.
