Job summary

The College Internship Program (CIP) is seeking a Social Skills Coordinator to partner with students, families and professionals to guide independence. This on-site, full-time role in Melbourne, FL reports to the Assistant Program Director and entails coordinating a social skills program and mentoring interns.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, with strong communication and organizational skills, plus experience in autism/social differences support.

Qualifications

• This role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Experience with autism spectrum disorder and social skills support preferred.
• Strong communication, organization and empathy for families and students.

Responsibilities

• Instruct social skills curriculum in individual and group sessions.
• Support instruction in Reframing, PEERS, and Social Mentoring.
• Assess student social skills and assist in goal setting.
• Develop relationships with local colleges to recruit interns.
• Supervise and train Social Skills staff and conduct evaluations.
• Lead social thinking projects and produce session notes and reports.
• Plan weekend activities and oversee Student Council.
• Participate in department head and team review meetings.
