Job Overview – Social Services Supervisor

Compensation: $36 – $38/hour

Location: Brooklyn, NY

Schedule: Monday to Friday (In-Office)

TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Social Services Supervisor in Brooklyn, NY for our client, overseeing social service programs, staff development, case management, and client support services. This role will supervise program staff, monitor service delivery, ensure compliance with documentation requirements, and support individuals and families experiencing housing instability or other social service needs.

Responsibilities as the Social Services Supervisor:

• Staff Supervision: Provide individual and team supervision, monitor employee performance, and conduct regular performance evaluations.
• Training & Development: Oversee staff onboarding, program orientation, training, and ongoing professional development.
• Program Operations: Monitor daily program activities, service delivery, and adherence to organizational policies and procedures.
• Crisis Intervention: Support crisis response, investigate client incidents, and ensure accurate completion of required reports.
• Documentation & Compliance: Ensure timely completion of case records, program documentation, and required reporting.
• Resource Management: Oversee client assistance resources, support staff recruitment, and coordinate with internal teams and community partners.

Qualifications for the Social Services Supervisor:

• Education: Master's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, or a related field is preferred, with a bachelor's degree in a related field and qualifying experience accepted.
• Experience: 2+ years of direct social services experience with a master's degree or 3+ years with a bachelor's degree is required.
• Industry Knowledge: Experience working with homeless individuals, families, or vulnerable populations is required, with knowledge of housing services, public benefits, and social service programs preferred.
• Supervisory Experience: 1+ years of supervisory or management experience within a social services program is required.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and electronic documentation systems is required.
• Skills & Attributes: Strong leadership, communication, organization, crisis management, discretion, flexibility, and ability to work independently and collaboratively are required, with Spanish language proficiency preferred.
