Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Public Administration, Human Services, Psychology, or a closely related field.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• At least five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in human or social services, including at least three (3) years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local social service laws and programs.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, event planning software, and social media platforms.
• Demonstrated success in grant writing and managing public funding.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and monitors social services programs for the City.
• Oversees intake, referral, and follow-up services for residents in need of support.
• Supervises and evaluates staff and program contractors.
• Prepares and administers departmental budget; pursues grant opportunities.
• Collaborates with agencies and nonprofit partners to coordinate services.
• Leads public outreach and educational programs to raise awareness of services.
• Tracks trends and service outcomes; prepares reports for City Manager and Commission.
• Responds to community crises and emergencies in coordination with other departments.
• Serves as the City’s representative on regional coalitions or boards related to social services.
• Collaborates to determine event goals, objectives, and audience.
• Builds relationships with partners and sponsors to maximize support.
• Keeps current on industry trends and outreach.
• Performs public speaking on behalf of the City at meetings and gatherings.
• Other related job duties.
