Job summary

WV Department of Human Services seeks Support Social Services Case Aides to assist clients with transportation, supervision, and visitation duties. You will help manage client-family interactions, document observations, and ensure compliance with court orders and case plans.

This role includes clerical tasks such as coordinating communication, scheduling, payments, and reimbursements, and may involve errands to meet clients' basic needs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or the equivalent.
  • Two years of full-time or equivalent part-time work experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • One year of full-time or equivalent experience as a Social Service Case Aide (Internal Applicants Only).
  • Additional education may substitute for experience per Equivalency Chart.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clients with transportation, general supervision, and visitation supervision.
  • Oversee client-family interactions, document observations, and ensure court order and case plan adherence.
  • Perform clerical duties: coordinate communication, documentation, scheduling, payment and reimbursement.
  • Run errands to meet clients’ needs for clothing, food, and personal documents.
  • Assist clients in identifying and obtaining benefits and services, may conduct home checks.
  • Act as a point-of-contact for medical and legal professionals; overtime may be required; personal vehicle use may be necessary.

Work may involve running errands to ensure clients’ needs for clothing, food, and personal documents are met. They assist clients in identifying and obtaining benefits and services. As necessary, they may conduct home checks to ensure compliance with child welfare standards. These positions often act as a point-of-contact for medical and legal professionals associated with cases. Mandatory overtime may be required, and the use of a personal vehicle for travel is necessary. Perform related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications
Education

High school diploma or the equivalent.

Licensure/Certifications

None.

Experience

Two (2) years of full-time or equivalent part-time work experience.

Special Requirements

Valid driver’s license.

Internal Applicants Only

One (1) year of full-time or equivalent part-time experience as a Social Service Case Aide.

Substitution Information

Additional education may substitute based on a year-for-year basis or as determined by the Office of Shared Administration Equivalency Chart.
