Job summary

CalHR in Crescent City is seeking a Social Services Aide (MSS) to assist social workers and support In-Home Support Services and other child/adult service programs. The role involves client assessments, counseling, referrals, and data entry, under supervision.

The position serves Del Norte County and requires the ability to handle confidential information and work with diverse populations. Training and exams will be conducted; a valid CA driver’s license may be required.

Qualifications

• 60+ semester/90+ quarter units including social welfare related courses.
• Or 2 years full-time social services experience.
• Or education plus experience meeting two-year requirement.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a routine caseload of elderly and disabled clients receiving in-home services.
• Conduct ongoing client needs assessments and verify needs with providers.
• Prepare basic written reports and enter data into the system.
• Provide direct training and counseling to parents on parenting and household skills.
• Assist social workers by performing assigned tasks and coordinating with community resources.
