Job summary

CalHR is hiring a Social Service Aide to support Social Workers in family functioning and child/adult services. Responsibilities include caseload management, client assessments, reporting, and liaison with medical and social service staff.

The role assists in home-based care and community services, with focus on training families in parenting, budgeting, and access to resources. Requires relevant education/experience and ability to work under supervision.

Qualifications

• Interview persons to obtain information for social services.
• Understand differences due to cultural/economic deprivation.
• Prepare basic written reports and maintain records.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a routine caseload of elderly adults receiving services.
• Conduct ongoing client needs assessments and verify needs with providers.
• Present assessments to professional staff for approval.
• Enter data into automated system and maintain case records.
• Provide direct training and counseling to parents on skills and budgeting.
