About The Role

As the Lead Social Media Strategist, you will shape and drive high-impact digital content strategies for Microsoft’s cloud business. You will lead the development and execution of integrated organic and paid social strategies across multiple platforms, working closely with creative, analytics, blog, events, community, and YouTube teams.

This senior individual contributor and people leadership role requires a proactive strategist with strong B2B marketing experience and the ability to connect audience insights to bold, effective programming in a complex matrixed environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary strategist and liaison for assigned customer solution areas within Microsoft Cloud Marketing
  • Develop holistic social media strategies rooted in audience insights, campaign goals, and platform best practices
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure alignment and continuity across blogs, creative content, analytics, community, and events
  • Provide thought leadership on evolving social media trends and advise on platform investments and scaling opportunities
  • Drive process improvements, governance, and best practices around demand generation via social media and blog channels
  • Oversee the execution of social programming, content calendars, and campaign deliverables
  • Approve creative assets and copy, ensuring consistency with brand voice and audience needs
  • Lead cross-functional meetings and foster trust among stakeholders across marketing, strategy, and operations
  • Partner with analytics to measure social media performance and translate data into actionable insights for optimization
  • Manage agency/vendor relationships and social asset development
  • Manage, mentor, and support 2–4 direct reports, focusing on their professional growth and team health
  • Cultivate a collaborative, feedback-driven team culture that encourages innovation and continuous learning

Qualifications

  • 5 to 7 years of marketing experience, including at least 2 years managing social media strategy and programs
  • Minimum 2 years managing and growing a team, with a focus on coaching and development
  • Deep expertise in social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, etc.) and digital marketing trends
  • Proven ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders across organizations to plan, execute, and report on initiatives
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data and inform strategic decisions
  • Customer service mindset with excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams
  • Experience with Microsoft products or social listening tools is a plus

Compensation

$110,000 - $115,000 annually (range dependent on experience and internal equity)
