Job Description:

Do you live and breathe search intent? Are you excited by the challenge of scaling content programs for some of the largest banking and financial brands in the world? Milestone is looking for a Senior SEO Content Strategist who can translate complex financial services needs into data driven, omni channel content strategies that boost visibility and drive measurable business outcomes. In this individual contributor role, you will partner with enterprise clients, product owners, and cross functional teams to build and execute content roadmaps that elevate brands, improve conversion, and support compliance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the end‑to‑end content strategy for a portfolio of enterprise banking and financial services accounts.
  • Conduct in-depth keyword research, SERP analysis, and competitive gap studies to uncover growth opportunities.
  • Translate research into roadmap documents, editorial calendars, content briefs, and channel plans that align with client goals and regulatory guidelines.
  • Guide writers, designers, and developers on best practices for on-page SEO, E‑E‑A‑T signals, and structured data.
  • Partner with analytics teams to set KPIs, build dashboards, and deliver ongoing performance reports that show ROI.
  • Collaborate with paid media, social, and product marketing leads to ensure an integrated approach across the customer journey.
  • Keep clients and internal stakeholders informed of SEO trends, algorithm updates, and industry shifts affecting the financial sector.
  • Mentor junior strategists and contribute to process documentation and thought leadership pieces.

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of hands-on SEO or content marketing experience, with at least 3 years focused on banking, credit unions, wealth management, or fintech.
  • Proven success designing and implementing large-scale content strategies for enterprise brands (hundreds to thousands of pages).
  • Advanced skills in keyword research, content gap analysis, and search intent mapping.
  • Proficiency with SEO toolsets such as SEMrush, Ahrefs, Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, and data visualization platforms.
  • Solid understanding of content governance in regulated industries (FINRA, OCC, CFPB) and familiarity with accessibility and inclusive language guidelines.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and compelling stories.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; comfortable interfacing with senior marketers, compliance teams, and C-level stakeholders.
  • Experience in additional verticals (hospitality, healthcare, retail) is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business, or related field; advanced certification in SEO or digital marketing preferred.
