Job summary

The Social Media and Newsletter Assistant in Cinematic Arts at Community College of Aurora is a work-study position on the Denver campus. The student will assemble and design posts for the department's social media accounts and newsletter, write copy, and build posts in line with college requirements.

The role offers collaboration with faculty and staff to schedule content up to a month in advance and to support design, graphics, and promotional materials for department events.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Cloud and Canva.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a quiet setting and maintain a professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with department faculty and staff to develop a post calendar up to one month in advance.
• Learn college requirements for social media and newsletter posts and implement them as appropriate.
• Collect, manage, organize and archive media for use in media.
• Write copy for social media posts and the newsletter.
• Develop workflow for ongoing review and approvals of social media posts with the CCA Marketing team.
• Assist with design and marketing projects, including content creation, graphics, and promotional materials.
• Work on creative projects related to the department's promotional needs or ongoing events.
• Assist the Department Staff with additional operational duties as assigned.
• Take responsibility for timesheet, time off, tracking hours, and schedule adjustments as per work study allotment.
