Make the Strategy. Read the Data. Shape the Conversation.
Fleet Farm is looking for a strategic, creative, and analytical Social Media Manager to help shape the social presence of one of the Midwest’s most recognized retail brands.
This role goes beyond publishing content and managing a social calendar. We’re looking for someone who understands why content performs, how social media supports broader business objectives, and how data can be used to continuously improve strategy.
You’ll own Fleet Farm’s organic social media strategy and work closely with Creative, Production, Merchandising, Marketing, Media, Human Resources, and agency partners. From major seasonal campaigns and product launches to emerging trends and real-time opportunities, you’ll help determine how Fleet Farm shows up across social channels—and measure whether it’s working.
This is an individual contributor role with significant strategic ownership and cross-functional influence in a fast-paced retail environment.
What You’ll Do
Own the Social Strategy
- Develop and execute Fleet Farm’s organic social media strategy aligned with marketing priorities, seasonal campaigns, promotions, product launches, and business objectives.
- Build and manage a multi-platform content calendar balancing planned campaigns with timely opportunities.
- Use audience behavior, platform trends, competitive insights, and performance data to guide content, channel, and publishing decisions.
- Identify opportunities to increase brand awareness, engagement, traffic, and customer loyalty.
- Stay ahead of platform changes, algorithms, trends, and emerging social technologies.
- Monitor engagement, reach, impressions, follower growth, website traffic, video performance, conversions, and other KPIs.
- Analyze campaign and content performance to understand what is—and isn’t—resonating.
- Translate data into actionable recommendations for future content, campaigns, publishing strategies, and creative direction.
- Conduct competitive benchmarking and social listening to identify trends, customer insights, and opportunities.
- Develop reporting that connects social performance to broader marketing and business objectives.
Lead Content Planning & Creative Direction
- Develop creative briefs defining objectives, audiences, messaging, deliverables, and success measures.
- Partner with Creative, Video Production, Merchandising, and Marketing teams to bring social-first ideas to life.
- Provide strategic direction and feedback on creative concepts.
- Manage multiple campaigns and projects from concept through publication.
Manage & Grow Our Social Presence
- Schedule, publish, test, and optimize content across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, and emerging platforms.
- Utilize Hootsuite, Meta Business Suite, and platform-native tools.
- Optimize content mix, cadence, and timing based on performance and audience insights.
- Support Fleet Farm’s LinkedIn presence, including company culture, recruiting, community involvement, milestones, and corporate news.
- Monitor and engage with comments, messages, reviews, and customer conversations while identifying opportunities to strengthen customer relationships.
- Partner with agency teams to identify and manage influencers and creators aligned with the Fleet Farm brand.
- Support influencer campaigns and user-generated content initiatives.
- Collaborate with Paid Media and agency partners to align organic and paid social strategies.
- Provide strategic recommendations for paid social creative, messaging, and boosted content.
What You’ll Bring
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Journalism, Public Relations, Advertising, or a related field—or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
- 2–4 years of professional social media experience supporting a consumer-facing brand, retailer, lifestyle brand, or marketing agency.
- Demonstrated experience developing social media strategy—not simply executing or publishing content.
- Strong experience using social media analytics to evaluate performance and make strategic recommendations.
- Experience developing and managing multi-platform content calendars.
- Experience with social media management platforms such as Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Sprinklr, Buffer, or similar.
- Experience with Meta Business Suite and social advertising platforms.
- Strong understanding of platform algorithms, audience behavior, social trends, content strategy, and community engagement.
- Experience developing creative briefs and collaborating with creative teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication, organization, project management, and analytical skills.
Even Better If You Have
Experience in retail, e-commerce, outdoor, sporting goods, farm & ranch, lifestyle, or another consumer-focused environment is a plus. We’d also love to see experience with seasonal campaigns and product launches, influencer or creator partnerships, user-generated content, social listening, and connecting social performance to website traffic, conversion, revenue, or other business outcomes.
Why Fleet Farm?
At Fleet Farm, social media is more than a publishing channel—it’s an opportunity to connect customers with the products, experiences, expertise, and communities that are part of their everyday lives.
You’ll have the opportunity to shape the strategy, influence creative direction, analyze performance, and help determine how the Fleet Farm brand evolves across social platforms.
If you bring together strategy, creativity, analytics, and the ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment, we’d love to hear from you.
