The Sage Group’s client is launching its organic social channels, and we’re bringing on a contractor to lead it. This is an exciting opportunity to build new channels from the ground up in a way that reaches
patients, elevates our brand, and sets us apart from the rest of the category.
You’ll define where we play, how we show up, and what winning looks like. You’ll also brief and
create the content that brings it to life. Over 6 months you’ll report to the Director of Consumer
Comms & Social, with potential to extend or convert to full-time.
This is a high-impact, high-visibility role. You’ll report to the Director of Consumer Comms &
Social and partner closely with all the comms & marketing teams so we show up with
intention across every channel. We’re looking for someone excited about building a strategy
from the ground up, not maintaining someone else’s playbook.
Responsibilities
- Audit the current social footprint and the broader landscape, then deliver a data-backed recommendation on where we should play, at what cadence, and with what content approach on each platform
- Define and own the organic social strategy across key platforms, including Instagram,
- TikTok, and YouTube. Establish each channel’s unique role, audience, and KPIs
- Set a clear measurement framework focused on reach, meaningful engagement, and social-attributed traffic, then report on performance and optimize continuously
Content and execution
- Build and manage a cross-platform content calendar that balances brand storytelling, campaign support, product moments, and provider voices. Keep it aligned with the broader marketing and comms calendar, so we tell one consistent story
- Develop a plan to launch social channels in a way that creates buzz and enables us to start gaining followers quickly
- Oversee day-to-day management of social accounts: publishing on schedule, keeping accounts actively monitored, and making sure the brand shows up consistently
- Own content direction and production. Write sharp, platform-specific briefs for designers, editors, and freelancers, and review deliverables against those briefs.
- Be able to create content yourself as well as brief producers to help scale the work.
- Partner with our Community Lead to source and amplify provider stories and define a creator strategy that brings therapist voices into our channels.
Cultural relevance and AI visibility
- Monitor cultural trends, platform moments, and mental health conversations in real time, and find opportunities to show up in ways that feel native and earn trust.
- Understand and influence how social content and conversation pull through into LLM and AI-generated answers, in partnership with SEO and content teams.
Building trust
- Partner with the Brand & Reputation Senior Manager and Customer Support on
- response management and crisis protocols to build trust and nurture two-way
Leave-behind
- Leave behind a documented social playbook, voice and content guidelines, templates, an editorial calendar, and a 12-month roadmap the team can run.
Qualifications
- 5+ years in organic social media, ideally with in-house experience building or significantly growing a consumer brand’s channels. Health, wellness, or mission-driven experience is a strong plus.
- Deep, current knowledge of platform algorithms, formats, and audience behavior, plus a strong read on internet culture.
- Hands-on creative skills: you can shoot, edit, and write short-form content yourself as well as brief it into other producers.
- A portfolio of social work you personally shipped, with the reasoning behind it and what it moved.
- A track record delivering on contract or as a consultant, or other clear evidence you can ramp fast and work without close management.
- Good judgment on sensitive topics, and comfort working in a regulated space.
- Fluency with AI tools and understanding of how social shapes search and LLM discovery.
- A bias toward shipping a v1 over perfecting a v3, which matters more than usual on a six-month clock.
