Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a passionate Social Impact & Community Relations Intern to support relationships with local communities and advance our corporate social responsibility with programs, outreach, and impact reporting.

You will gain hands-on experience in program development, stakeholder engagement, event planning, and reporting metrics, collaborating with local nonprofits, schools, and civic organizations while working remotely for IA residents.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Public Relations, Communications, Social Work, Nonprofit Management, or a related field with junior or senior standing.
• GPA of at least 2.5.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability in successfully completing tasks.
• Strong teamwork skills.
• Effective multitasking and prioritization skills.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Excel.
• Integrity, maturity, dependability, a positive attitude and enthusiasm.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and executing community outreach programs and volunteer events.
• Support partnerships with local nonprofits, schools, and civic organizations.
• Help track and report on social impact metrics and outcomes.
• Contribute to internal and external communications related to select initiatives.
• Conduct research on social issues, community needs, and best practices.
• Assist with grant applications, sponsorship requests, and donation tracking.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for new initiatives.
• Gain experience in community engagement and CSR strategy.
• Develop skills in event planning, stakeholder communication, and impact reporting.
• Understand the role of businesses in driving social change.
• Build professional relationships and receive mentorship from experienced leaders.
• Contribute to initiatives that make a real difference in the community.
