Job summary

The Pinnacle School in Stamford, CT is seeking a Social Emotional Coach to provide one-on-one behavioral and emotional support. You will help students build self-regulation, social skills, and confidence, working closely with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure thriving academic and emotional growth.

This 11-month role runs Monday–Friday, 7:30am–4:00pm, with a compensation range of $25.00–$25.75 per hour.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting children or adolescents with behavioral or learning differences.
  • Calm, caring, and patient demeanor grounded in professionalism and empathy.
  • Strong collaboration, active listening, and communication skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency for documentation and communication tasks.
  • Availability to work 11 months (11-month position including summer program).
  • Be available to work Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm.
  • Open to compensation range $25.00 an hour to $25.75 an hour.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one classroom support focused on academic engagement, emotional regulation, and social interaction.
  • Monitor and document student behavior, progress, and responses to interventions.
  • Assist students with self-help and daily living skills to promote independence and confidence.
  • Implement de-escalation and calming strategies to maintain safety and support emotional stability.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure consistent, individualized student support.

As a Social Emotional Coach at The Pinnacle School, you will provide one-on-one behavioral and emotional support to students, helping them build self-regulation, social skills, and confidence. You’ll work closely with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure students thrive both academically and emotionally.
