Job summary

Berkley Management Protection in Southern California seeks a Territory Manager to drive growth of the management liability lines. You will coordinate resources, oversee agency distribution, and collaborate with underwriting to expand market presence in the region.

The role requires strong negotiation, sales and relationship-building skills, plus the ability to travel and meet with agents face-to-face when possible. A four-year degree and insurance marketing experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Minimum of 5 years insurance marketing experience.
• Must reside in Southern California
• Good organizational skills, ability to handle multiple tasks and effectively prioritize workload.
• Demonstrated depth in negotiation, sales and problem-solving skills.
• Strong computer skills and ability to work with multi-faceted systems.
• Ability to effectively and independently manage complex workload while exhibiting very sound judgment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with agents and other departments while exemplifying superior teamwork.
• Ability to travel in assigned territory - 60% agency engagement/ travel- external facing role with a combination of in person and virtual agency appointments with a strong emphasis to meet face to face whenever possible

Responsibilities

• Grow the private company management liability lines of business in assigned territory
• Work closely with the Assistant Vice President to establish and implement a sales culture
• Establish strong relationships with agents in driving mutually beneficial results through agency planning, production and growth
• Manage distribution and negotiate agency appointment agreements
• Monitor competitors' offerings and emerging industry issues
• Influence the structure of the region to capitalize on the strengths of the individual team members
• Work with regional and senior leadership team to develop and drive underwriting and business strategies within region and nationally
