Job summary

Everforth Apex seeks a Tier 1 Cyber Security Analyst to monitor and triage security events in a 24/7 SOC. You will analyze logs from Splunk, investigate alerts, and escalate to Tier 2/3 as needed. You’ll document findings and support containment under supervision.

We value analytical thinking, attention to detail, and strong communication. The role requires flexibility for nights, weekends, and holidays within a fast-paced team environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in 24/7 SOC environment.
• Associate degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field, or equivalent SOC experience.
• CompTIA Security+ Certification is required.
• Experience with Splunk, Splunk SOAR, Proofpoint; understanding of incident response.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security events and alerts from SIEMs (Splunk) and other security tools.
• Perform initial triage and investigation to determine severity, scope and impact.
• Document incidents and actions in case management systems.
• Execute basic response actions using SOAR platforms and assist containment as needed.
• Support 24/7 SOC operations and participate in shift handoffs.
