Job summary

R+L Carriers, Inc. is seeking an IT Security Engineer to join the Enterprise Operation Center and Information Management Technology team.

You will implement security measures to protect systems, data and networks, analyzing threats from multiple platforms and coordinating responses with the SOC and EOC teams. The role emphasizes incident handling, risk assessments, and collaboration with vendors to harden security and prevent reoccurrences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 5+ years IT security experience required.
• Information security or IT risk/compliance experience preferred.
• Industry certifications such as CISA, CISSP, CRISC are a plus.
• Ability to communicate effectively across management levels.
• Experience with Windows or Linux system/network administration is a plus.
• Understanding of PCI is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security infrastructure and report data threats.
• Identify incidents and perform analysis to determine severity and response.
• Document incidents per policy and procedures.
• Provide escalation point during security incidents and advise on containment.
• Contribute to root cause analysis and remediation plans.
• Collaborate with security vendors to reduce vulnerabilities.
• Perform risk assessments and test data processing systems.
• Be aware of firewall changes, antivirus, data encryption, and other security measures.
• Recommend security enhancements and purchases.
• Develop procedures for recovering from an attack.
• Meet with change management to ensure security in system changes.
• Maintain knowledge of evolving threats and vulnerabilities.
• Weekly meetings with Secure Works SOC for threat discussions.
• Work with EOC and Architecture teams to strengthen security posture.
• Support, troubleshoot, configure, manage, and upgrade FW, VPN, APM, WAF, and related products.
