Job summary

R+L Carriers is seeking a Cybersecurity Architect to design and oversee security across a national transportation and LTL environment. You will shape architecture standards, mentor engineering teams, and align security with regulatory and operational needs across on-prem, cloud, and OT-connected assets.

The role emphasizes Zero Trust, incident resilience, and collaboration with GRC, IT leadership, and operations to embed secure-by-design practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, CS, Engineering, or related discipline.
• 8+ years in cybersecurity with 3+ years in architectural leadership.
• Experience with enterprise GRC frameworks (NIST CSF, NIST 800-53, ISO 27001).
• Expertise in cloud security, network segmentation, IAM, and data protection.
• Industry certifications: CISSP, CCSP, CISM, TOGAF, or equivalent security certifications.
• Experience in transportation, logistics, or OT-heavy environments.

Responsibilities

• Define security architecture strategy aligned with transportation systems and logistics operations.
• Design secure integration patterns for dispatch, WMS/TMS, and telematics.
• Lead threat modeling and architectural reviews for apps interfacing with mobile fleets & APIs.
• Architect secure cloud and hybrid environments (AWS/Azure).
• Support DevSecOps integration across CI/CD pipelines.
• Evaluate security tools to support 24/7 fleet operations (SIEM, EDR, IAM, ZTNA).
• Collaborate with Infrastructure, DevOps, Fleet, and OT Security teams to embed controls.
• Drive Zero Trust implementation for mobile workers and OT devices.
• Partner with GRC to map controls to risk registers and audit-ready sets.
• Ensure SOX, PCI-DSS, HIPAA considerations and evolving DOT/FMCSA guidance.
