Genesis10 is seeking a SOAR Engineer – ITSM Integrations for a 12+ month contract with a global financial institution. The role is onsite in Chicago, IL, Denver, CO, Washington, DC, or Jersey City, NJ, 5 days a week.

The engineer will design, build, and maintain integrations between SOAR platforms and Jira/JSM, developing automated workflows for incident response and ITSM ticket management using Jira REST APIs, OAuth2, Python, and JQL.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 3+ years in systems integration, automation engineering, SOAR, or ITSM development.
• Hands-on Jira/JSM experience and REST API skills.
• Strong knowledge of OAuth2 authentication and authorization.
• Proficiency in Python and scripting.
• Experience with JQL queries.
• Ability to document architecture and workflows.

Responsibilities

Genesis10 is currently seeking a SOAR Engineer - ITSM Integrations - Onsite for a 12+ month contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Chicago, IL, Denver, CO, Washington, DC, or Jersey City, NJ. This is a 5 days a week onsite opportunity.

The SOAR Engineer – ITSM Integrations is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining integrations between Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) platforms and IT Service Management (ITSM) tools, with a primary focus on Jira and Jira Service Management (JSM). This role develops automation workflows that streamline incident response, ticket management, and operational processes across security and IT teams. The ideal candidate possesses strong experience with Jira/JSM REST APIs, OAuth2 authentication, Python development, and JQL (Jira Query Language), along with a solid understanding of workflow automation and systems integration.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain integrations between SOAR platforms and Jira/Jira Service Management (JSM)
• Develop and support automated workflows that create, update, and manage ITSM tickets during security incidents and operational events
• Utilize Jira and JSM REST APIs to facilitate seamless data exchange between systems
• Implement and troubleshoot OAuth2 authentication and authorization mechanisms for secure integrations
• Create and optimize JQL queries for reporting, workflow automation, and operational analytics
• Develop Python-based automation scripts, connectors, and integration services
• Collaborate with Security Operations, Incident Response, Service Management, and Infrastructure teams to automate business processes
• Monitor and troubleshoot integration performance, reliability, and data accuracy
• Document integration architecture, workflows, API mappings, and operational procedures
• Participate in testing, deployment, and continuous improvement of automation solutions
• Ensure integrations adhere to security, compliance, and governance standards

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• 3+ years of experience in systems integration, automation engineering, SOAR engineering, or ITSM development
• Hands-on experience with Jira and/or Jira Service Management (JSM)
• Experience working with REST APIs and API integrations
• Strong knowledge of OAuth2 authentication and authorization
• Proficiency in Python development and scripting
• Experience developing and optimizing JQL queries
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Experience creating technical documentation and process diagrams

Desired skills:

• Experience integrating SOAR platforms with ITSM solutions
• Knowledge of security operations and incident response processes
• Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies
• Experience with webhooks, JSON, and API-based automation frameworks
• Experience working in enterprise-scale IT environments
• Relevant certifications in Jira Administration, Atlassian tools, or automation technologies

Pay range: $70.25 - $78.25 per hour
