Winter employment dates are Late October through January 1st. The position is a seasonal role located in Big Sky, Montana. The Snowmaker is responsible for maintaining snow guns, hoses, hydrants, and pumps during operational snowmaking.
Responsibilities
- Operate snowmaking equipment for creating manufactured snow from water resources.
- Produce quality snow through the use of both air/water and fan equipment.
- Relocate guns and hoses to various areas around the mountain continuously.
- Adjust, turn, or move snow guns by hand to maintain snowmaking efficiency.
- Adjust the water and/or airflow to snow guns.
Position Requirements
- Must be able to work in varying winter weather conditions.
- High school diploma, GED, vocational training, or related coursework required; basic understanding of mechanical equipment and systems.
- Previous work experience as a Snowmaker, especially in a resort or club setting.
- Valid state driver’s license.
- Work 12‑hour shifts starting at 12:00 am or 12:00 pm; overtime may be required depending on weather conditions.
