Job summary

Convoy of Hope is seeking a Data Platform Engineer to serve as the organization’s Snowflake administrator and technical owner. You will ensure security, governance, and cost-conscious operation while supporting data integrations and BI development.

You will collaborate with stakeholders to model data, design scalable RBAC, and optimize ETL/ELT workflows. The role requires strong SQL, experience with enterprise data sources, and familiarity with Microsoft/Azure tools.

Qualifications

Five years of experience in data engineering, data platform administration, data warehousing, or a closely related role.
A bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred; a high school diploma or equivalent is acceptable.
Snowflake certification preferred (SnowPro Core or equivalent).
Strong SQL skills, including query optimization, views, and stored procedures.
Experience building data pipelines from SaaS platforms, APIs, databases, or flat files.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary Snowflake administrator, ensuring security, reliability, and governance across environments.
Design and maintain RBAC models for departments, analysts, and apps using least-privilege principles.
Manage Snowflake security practices, access reviews, MFA coordination, and secure handling of data.
Develop and support ELT/ETL processes, SQL transformations, and data movement to Snowflake.
Create BI-ready data structures and dashboards, and maintain documentation and runbooks.
