Job summary

Vail Resorts in Colorado is hiring for winter season 2026/2027 to fill roles including snow instructors. Instructors will deliver snowboard and ski lessons to groups and individuals, ensuring a safe, fun learning environment and world-class guest service.

Starting wage is $20/hour with seasonal full- and part-time schedules. Training is provided; placement may span multiple resort departments depending on needs. Housing is sometimes available, and employees receive pass benefits and discounts.

Qualifications

• Must be comfortable and competent skiing on groomed blue terrain.
• Must be willing to work with guests of all ages and have a strong level of comfort with children aged 3 and older.
• Must be able to communicate fluently in English.
• Must be willing to work weekends/holidays and meet minimum scheduling requirements.
• Must be comfortable being in ski boots for extended period of time.
• Placement as an instructor is contingent upon successfully completing training and meeting the minimum skill, guest service, and safety standards.
• As a Non-Certified snowboard Instructor, you have the ability to be a flexible employee who works across multiple departments and in various roles to support the one-resort mentality which could include: Lift Experience, Mountain Activities, Food and Beverage Support, Base Area Operations, Retail Rental Operations

Responsibilities

• Teach group and private lessons
• Work with guests of all ages, with a focus on children
• Deliver world-class guest service
• Create a safe and fun learning environment
• Support all needs of the snow sports school: inclusive of scanning, running surface lifts, facilitating lunch, fitting equipment
• Provide guest feedback that inspires and creates lifelong skiers
• Other duties as assigned
