Job summary

Central Pennsylvania Food Bank in Harrisburg is seeking an experienced full-time SNAP Outreach Associate to provide compassionate, efficient SNAP application assistance and support services to neighbors in need. The role also promotes CPFB and the SNAP Helpline through partner agencies and community outreach.

Responsibilities include assisting with SNAP applications via COMPASS, coordinating referrals, and educating applicants on program rules, while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy in

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required; college education and/or certifications are a plus.
• Experience in call centers or nonprofit customer service preferred.
• Familiarity with SNAP or government programs preferred.
• Multilingual abilities are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist SNAP Helpline calls and referrals from various sources.
• Screen and assist households applying for SNAP via COMPASS.
• Enter and update case details and outreach events in Salesforce.
• Provide applicants with other resources (2-1-1, WIC, LIHEAP, medical benefits, etc.).
• Explain program rules and enrollment process to help applicants advocate for benefits.
• Assist applicants uploading verifications via COMPASS.
• Track application status and perform follow-up as needed.
• Address client concerns during follow-ups.
• Adhere to protocols for application security and confidentiality.
• Participate in internal committees and workgroups as required.
• Occasionally assist with Food Bank events.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
