Job summary

GE Vernova in Rochester, MN seeks an SMT line technician to support the setup, preparation, and operation of multiple SMT lines and PCBA assemblies for manufacturing.

You will follow BOMs and drawings, perform precise visual inspections at screen printing, bump, and AOI stations, and use SAP for job-related transactions while coordinating with supervisors and engineers. This role emphasizes hands-on tooling, teamwork, and safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to operate hand tools and computers.
• Must be able to visually observe details at close range.
• Able to work with repetitive motions and dexterity requirements.
• Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare workspace with parts, materials, tools, and test software.
• Assist startup and shutdown of full SMT lines.
• Support feeder adjustments (size, indexing, type) in line programs.
• Setup and operate various machines across SMT lines.
• Load/replenish feeders and perform changeovers efficiently.
• Train to perform visual inspections at screen printing, bump, and AOI stations.
• Review BOMs and drawings for accuracy.
• Communicate status with supervisors and engineers.
• Carry out barcode scanning tasks and SAP ERP transactions.
• Additional duties may be assigned by supervisor.
