Job summary

Leidos Defense Systems Electronics Manufacturing is seeking a Surface Mount Assembly Technician to join our team in Huntsville, AL. The role involves operating SMT equipment to produce PCBA assemblies, inspecting work, and ensuring quality on a fast-paced line.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma, ability to read drawings, stand for 8 hours, and be a US citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance; relocation to Northern Alabama is required if not local.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and less than 1 year of experience.
• Ability to read drawings and follow work instructions.
• Ability to stand for up to 8 hours daily.
• Must be a US Citizen and possess or meet the eligibility to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
• Must be a resident of the Northern Alabama area or willing to relocate to the area.

Responsibilities

• Working knowledge of SMT machines such as stencil printer, solder paste inspection, pick & place, reflow oven, AOI, X-ray and hand soldering.
• Understanding of different electronics packages such as 0402, 0603, BGA’s and how they are processed on a SMT line.
• Experience working under a microscope.
• Hand soldering SMT and Through-hole parts.
• Works to achieve day-to-day objectives and have significant impact on the work output.
• Works independently under limited supervision.
• Work in team environment and interacting with different functions, project teams and productions teams.
