Job summary

Nashville International Airport is seeking a Manager, Safety Management Systems (SMS) to lead the development, day-to-day management, and continuous improvement of the airport SMS under 14 CFR Part 139, Subpart E. You will serve as the operational lead for SMS activities, coordinating hazard identification, safety risk management, and safety promotion.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 2-4 years of direct SMS program development/ maturation in airport or regulated ops.
  • 4-7 years of aviation safety, airport operations, or safety program management.
  • Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the SMS program per 14 CFR Part 139, Subpart E.
  • Coordinate safety processes across departments and lead SMS Working Group.
  • Facilitate risk assessments, documentation, and mitigations.
  • Maintain SMS docs: Manual, hazard logs, risk register, tracking systems.
  • Prepare safety performance reports for leadership.
