Job summary

Tucson International Airport is seeking a safety and health leader to oversee regulatory issues and implement the airport-wide Safety Management System (SMS). This role will coordinate OSHA training, policy updates, and performance reporting across TAA departments.

The successful candidate will drive risk assessment initiatives, champion a strong safety culture, and provide expert guidance to staff on regulatory compliance and safety best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial or safety engineering, occupational health, or closely related field.
• Three years of progressively responsible experience in workplace safety and employee training; FAA SMS experience preferred.
• Previous aviation experience is preferred.
• Equivalent combination of experience and training accepted.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight of safety and health regulatory and policy issues for TAA departments.
• Develop and manage an FAA mandated Safety Management System (SMS) for airport operations.
• Oversight of OSHA safety training programs and re-certification compliance.
• Report safety, operational and process metrics to leadership and stakeholders.
• Champion safety culture and provide consultation to TAA staff on safety matters.
• Coordinate inspections, risk assessments, and corrective actions to reduce hazards.
